NKT Events had the pleasure of attending the DWP Congress in Florence, Italy this month which hosted hundreds of destination wedding planners, venues and partners from all of the world (over 50 different nationalities!) to come under one platform to discuss the greatest opportunities and challenges in the industry.
The event was held over three days, starting off with a welcome cocktail at the historic Palazzo Vecchio. Keeping in style with the theme of the night, “Kings & Queens: A Royal Night Out”, ladies were given crowns to wear while the men were adorned with crystal broaches. The night was filled with beauty, opulent decoration’s and live entertainment which was closed out by the cutting and tasting of a gorgeous cake created and designed by Melanie Secciani of Tuscan Wedding Cakes.
The second day was the start of the two day plenary session that was complete with key note speeches and panel sessions from seasoned industry professionals such as Sharon Sacks, Kevin Lee, Wayne Gurnick and Susanna Richardson. They discussed the importance of embracing the multi-culture aspect that included in planning a destination wedding and to remember that in the end, our job is to create a one-of-a-kind experience for our couples. In addition to these interactive discussions, participants attended pre-arranged One-to-One meetings to network with individuals from all over. Following a very informational day, guests were invited to a gala dinner at the Villa Corsini a Mezzomonte where we had an unforgettable musical night of fun, food, drinks & a whole lot of networking!
Day 3 was a real treat as not only did we hear from Fernanda Silva, Marcy Blum and Tara Guérard during the panel sessions but we received a social media session from the fabulous Wendy Daoud El-Khoury, Director and Founder of Wedded Wonderland, Austrailia, where she went over some relevant aspects of social media content management that are beneficial to the luxury wedding industry. The DWP Congress 2016 was then closed out by a Farewell Cocktail Reception , held at the Villa di Maiano, overlooking the Tuscan countryside. Thanks to the DWP Congress, I now know who to call to organize a fabulous destination wedding in Tuscany!
I would like to personally thank the wonderful team at QnA International for organizing this awesome congress and I look forward to attending next year! There are a few photos below but for more, check out the link!
