Amalfi Elopement Inspiration at Villa Cimbrone

In October of last year, I travelled to the Amalfi Coast with incredible fine art and wedding photographers Tanja Kibogo and Kristy Ryan. We knew this exceptional coastline held surreal beauty and we wanted to capture our vision of what an elegant, modern, yet simple elopement at the most prestigious and iconic Amalfi Coast venue on the Mediterranean, the Villa Cimbrone.

The villa is located in the tiny village of Ravello where no cars are permitted, lest they spoil the heavenly beauty of the place, and sits gracefully on the top of a hill overlooking the Mediterranean Sea. Ravello blends the historically medieval with a wonderfully quaint, old town charm.

The shoot took place outside in the villa’s Tea Garden. Our palette of blush, light terracotta and peach colors blended seamlessly with the natural tones of the garden. The ceremony was simple; we wanted to highlight our couple and the beauty of the landscape around us, sharing the ideality of the Amalfi Coast venue. The groom donned a sharp velvet suit that very much spoke to the trends of wedding fashion today. I would say, however, that the ‘star’ of the shoot, beyond the incredible setting itself, was the stunning cape the bride wore from Gibson Bespoke. It was perfect as it weaved together the grace and elegance of the historical grounds as well as the modernity of the bride, groom and design decor.

Following the ceremony portion of our elopement, the couple moved towards the breathtaking Belvedere Infinite Terrace. We really wanted to create a story around what it would be like to elope in this villa on the Amalfi Coast. From the classically styled hair and makeup by Ava Belle to the beautifully elegant couple, we worked to create a visionary experience for future couples planning their once-in-a-lifetime day.

Overlooking an endless expanse of turquoise and blue, colours blended softly with a small ombre bouquet by Siloh Floral, scents and sights that when together, completed a truly stunning experience.
